JESUS

In Christian belief systems, this is the person who came to fulfill a Promise made by the First Person of the Holy Trinity (God the Father). The Promise is that God the Father would send His Son to redeem humanity because they had committed a great sin through the actions of Adam and Eve. The Christian belief system holds that (in most of the different Faiths) this Second Person of the Trinity (Jesus) became human in all things but evil. Jesus came to Earth and lived some two thousand years ago and this is how we mark the passage of time, from the event of His life.

CHRIST

Is a reference to Jesus the Christ has the movement toward which all of existence (evolution) is directed, for Teilhard this would be Point Omega. This concept is to SEE that the 'God of our Fathers' is also and, more importantly, the God of all and is connected to our spirit, space, time, material continuum through the action of free will whereby all of the cosmos is allowed to grow and express itself as it desires.

In the Book Of Life the most read and influential book is the Bible. The focus here is to unite the Historical Jesus and God as described in this book with the Cosmic Christ.

The Historical Jesus begins His Incarnational descent into the Earth beginning around:

The Fertile Crescent      8000-2200 B.C.

Examine the geography and topography of the Middle East and Canaan, Egypt, and Mesopotamia. Witness the dawn of human civilization (Adam and Eve), the emergence of the first prehistoric settlements, the development of the written language, and the centralization of power (cast out of Eden).

In The Beginning      2200-1550 B.C. (B.C.E.-before common era)

In the story of Genesis, you will peer over the shoulders of Abraham and his descendants as they travel to Canaan, Egypt, Hebron, and Haran. In these travels you will learn how Abraham became the "father of three faiths."

Let My People Go      1550-1200 B.C.-(Before Christ)

Relive the gripping conflict of Moses and pharaoh, and then see the science behind the ten plagues. Wander with the Israelites out of Egypt to Mount Sinai, the site where Moses received the Ten Commandments.

Settlement Of Canaan      1200-1000 B.C.

Share as a spectator of Joshua's conquest of Canaan. And look on at David's astonishment as he defeats Goliath. Observe the Kingdom of Israel taking root and the Hebrew language developing. Be an observer as the Bronze Age wanes and the Iron Age is born.

The Twin Kingdoms      1005-586 B.C.

Explore Zion and the city of Jerusalem during the reigns of King David and King Solomon. Gaze in awe as Assyria rises to power, sets its sights on conquering the world, and overthrows Israel.

A New World Order      500-50 B.C.

You will be amazed at the full force of the Persian and Greek Empires. Here you can witness the original writing of the Bible, and learn the origin of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Jesus And Early Christianity      65 B.C.-340 A.D. (C.E.-common era)

Walk in the footsteps of Jesus from his birthplace to his journeys through Galilee to the sites of the Last Supper and his arrest on the Mount of Olives. Sense the potent surge of change as Jesus' followers branch off and develop the faith of Christianity.

Fall Of Rome/Spread Of Islam      379-1077 A.D. (Year of our Lord, Anno Domini)

Glimpse the collapse of the Roman Empire as Persia gradually regains power. Watch, as Muhammad has his first revelation, and observe the construction of the Dome of the Rock on a site sacred to three faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam).
